DESCRIPTION:
French, gilt brass case carriage clock, time, gong strike, alarm with repeat in a Corniche case with a gilt floral-trellis mask surrounding the dial (nicely pierced and chased), C. 1900
CONDITION:
Case in as found condition with some of the gilt remaining. Original porcelain dials are perfect and the hands are original. The alarm hand has fallen off and is sitting between the glass and the front panel. Beveled glass in the rear door has a corner chip. Rest of the glass panels are fine. Knob to the rear door is missing. Platform escapement is intact, but the movement will need to be serviced. Ht. 7.5".
